I’m not quite sure where the joke came from that Amon’s favorite dish is giant Allagan snails. Maybe because I always thought it was amusing that one of the first things a botanist can gather outside of Gridania are Allagan snails… and that they’re only used for one dish ever. Which isn’t escargot. 

Anyhow. Amon and his snail love have persisted!
