High Allagan

Posted on: September 2, 2018

Wait a second. Who is this guy all dressed up in High Allagan robes?

Koh Level 50

Posted on: September 4, 2018

Koh wins scholarly recognition (aka ding Level 50)!

One of her recently published research papers on Allagan theory has been noticed by other historians in her field. Of course, she pieced some of it together thanks to a few hints she got from a certain someone, but the work and presentation itself were all hers.

Congrats Koh!

(Summoner Koh just for the fun of it.)

Leveling Scylla

Posted on: September 4, 2018

Part of the reason I managed to level Koh to 50 over this weekend was because my RP partner has been hard at working leveling Scylla for our future RP stories. We both had a three day weekend, but I don’t think either of us expected to get this far.

She leveled Scylla from 1 to 50 in three days!

We still have yet to do Castrum and Praetorium (ugh), but will be tackling those tonight.

We’ve been kicking around backstory and RP plots. She has a lot of neat ideas for Scylla so hopefully everything falls into place and she can share them.

A certain someone got to a certain place, and now he thinks he owns everything.

This node’s user data banks were obviously corrupted with the passage of time.

Coming Home

Posted on: September 6, 2018

Feels a bit like coming home.

Dark Amon

Posted on: September 7, 2018

Burning through MSQ lately, finished up through 3.1 tonight, and had to pause to take a screen of the obligatory Dark Amon in the cutscene after the Singularity Reactor. Thought it came out pretty cool looking!

Grand Melee

Posted on: September 8, 2018

Still working through MSQ and laughed tonight when during the grand melee (which I’d forgotten about), they stuck Amon in House Fortemps colors. He actually does a pretty okay job in blending in with the Ishgard Elezen, huh? Well, except for toting around an Allagan bow.

Dragonsong War

Posted on: September 8, 2018

Finished up the Dragonsong War arc tonight. Getting closer and closer to Stormblood and Kugane!

Stormblood

Posted on: September 9, 2018

It’s about time! Finally, got Amon to Stormblood tonight!

This means I could get those Bard job quests done, and he’s got a new fancy-pants level 70 skill and set of AF armor. Not sure if I’m going to work it into his glamour or not yet. I’m sad at the hair-collar clipping, but it seems rampant with this hairstyle. :(

Now to work on getting him to Kugane!

Kugane

Posted on: September 9, 2018

Okay. Who let this bard into Kugane, and what were they thinking when they did?

Unexpected Side Effects

Posted on: September 10, 2018

Hey Amon, whatcha up to?

AMON? What did you DO?!

“Let’s just call it… unexpected side effects. I’m rather stuck right now. Can someone send help?”

Too Tall

Posted on: September 10, 2018

Y’all had to go and tease Amon about being tall all the time… and see what happens?

Giant PSA

Posted on: September 10, 2018

It’s come to my attention that there may have been a little alarm in discovering my activities this past weekend. Please let me assure you that any news of my greater-than-normal stature…

(Oh, hey, I didn’t realize there was a little Wood Wailer post up here!)

…and the story of me riding giant rays underwater…

…and the tale of me fighting giant rays (there’s a trend happening here)….

…are all very much speculation and rumor.

Well, most of it is, at least. I’ve had an odd weekend.

My monthly food bills are going to go through the roof, now… aren’t they?

Young vs. Now – Amon

Posted on: September 12, 2018

Included a smile and a sneer. Kid Amon still had quite a sneer. And he always had huge ears. XD

I haven’t really sat down and thought a whole lot about Amon’s parents and what traits he inherited from whom, or anything like that. I probably should one day.

I do know that he cared a great deal for his family and that he has many fond memories. He actually had a pretty great young childhood, despite being raised in a fairly poor, backwater household before being brought to the Tower for training.

Whhhhhhhhhhhy?

Posted on: September 12, 2018

When you’re just a baby miner trying to get a level by gathering iron ore for a Grand Company turn in… and there’s an A Rank haunting the area in front of Copperbell Mines where you need to gather.

Sorta Sweet?

Posted on: September 13, 2018

Every now and then, he actually even fools me into thinking he can be sweet…

Fishing

Posted on: September 14, 2018

Status update: Amon learns how to fish today as I continue to wait for Hurricane Florence to roll in. Work officially closed at noon today, but I expected much more in the way of wind and rain tonight. So far, where I’m at, it’s been pretty quiet.

Scylla's Hat

Posted on: September 15, 2018

Amon… what are you wearing? Hold on! Is that… Scylla?

Scylla’s first run through Syrcus Tower - the hat dropped for them both. She seems less than thrilled, however.

4.4 – Thoughts and Speculation on the Downfall of Allag

Posted on: September 25, 2018

So, we pretty much got the bomb dropped on us regarding Ascian involvement in the Garlean Empire. I mean, we knew they were involved, just not to what extent.

Being that the Garleans seem in many ways to be walking the same road as the Allagans, and it’s been confirmed that Ascians were also involved in pulling some strings of the Allagan Empire, this one statement stood out to me.

This seems to directly infer that the rise and fall of Allag was orchestrated by the Ascians. Probably for the same reason.

It really makes me wonder how much of the moral decay of the Allagan society and the pure madness taking place in Crystal Tower and Azys Lla during the end times… not to mention Amon’s insanity and Xande’s cursed revival… were the tools and desired outcome of Ascians seeking to bring about calamity. Obviously, this was successful in the end.

I already had a pretty strong headcanon that Amon really, really loathed Ascians. But this single line of text seems to solidify the idea that there might have been Ascian influences on the inside that played a larger part in Amon’s personal downfall, and that of Allag in general, than I’d originally imagined.

Just some food for thought.

Being Helpful

Posted on: September 26, 2018

Amon is always super helpful as the Free Company develops new ships in the workshop.

Illogical Logistics Node

Posted on: September 27, 2018

Elezen, hmm? Is that the way you greet me when you want something from me, node?”

“Very well. I suppose I can handle this menial task since it’s got your wires in a tangle.”

…Later, after killing four adamantite claws and returning to the node…

“Well, to be fair, you did not exactly specify.”

“Truly?”

“’Twould not be the first time, I suppose.”

Here Comes Trouble!

The Visitor

Posted on: September 29, 2018

Scylla may pick at Amon quite a bit, but he’s amused that she’s so short that he can sit on the ground and be almost at eye level with her while she’s in a chair.

Hopefully we can start working on some of our collaborative RP story line this weekend! We’ll see how it goes!

Decorating the FC House

Posted on: September 30, 2018

Just starting to set a very basic foundation of design down for our FC house. It has a LONG way to go, but I finally put a little time into getting some furniture in there. Still trying to decide what to make the centerpiece of the basement area. The windows make a world of difference!

Too Excited to Wait

Posted on: September 30, 2018

A day early, but call me a trendsetter. I’m eagerly awaiting All Saint’s Wake, and I’ve re-decorated this writing establishment – it now belongs to the spooks.

As if it didn’t already, that is.

Too bad I can’t wear my hat along with the ghost costume.
