I finally got the Healing Tabard from the Windhurst raid tonight! I don’t have the whole set, but getting pretty close.
I really, really wanted this as AF gear back when I played FF11, so I’m happy that I can get it now, all these years later! Just a little odd to be using it on White Mage!

I play this game with my cat often IRL! When I don’t see him nearby, I ask out loud, “Where’s the Kitten?” - and he usually happily pops up to greet me, even from another room!
Eight Years Ago Today, Spot of Mummery Launched!

This all started as a second try at making an RP blog for Amon (my first try actually failed a year earlier).
I’d just randomly decided to scrape together a short fanfic during what was Camp NaNoWriMo in 2018. I selected Amon as the main character, even though he was just a random alt I’d left gathering dust on Mateus in 2017.
I had no idea where I was going with Amon’s tale. But I rolled up a bunch of side characters for his story, and relaunched this Tumblr.
I could have never imagined that eight years later, I’d still be here! This is all due to the lovely folks I’ve met over the many years – you who accept and seem to care for my crazy Allagan that, by all canon proof, shouldn’t be loved or accepted.
To say this blog has shaped my enjoyment of FFXIV and my life over this period of time wouldn’t be an exaggeration.
Back during Endwalker launch, everything about Amon’s story was turned upside down by an unexpected change in canon. You were all here to encourage me to stick by my version of Amon, so I did. It took a few years, but I worked through it, and I was happy with my (slightly canon-bent) Amon standing next to these changes.
Last year, it was my life that was turned upside down. First being hospitalized with a case of pancreatitis that, I’ve been told, was a closer brush with mortality than I’ve expressed. Then, again, in December, with the loss of my long-time job due to layoffs… when basically my life-long career came to a close.
I’m still trying to find my way through that second life change. But as I stood by Amon, he stands by me in my times of uncertainty. Through him, I strive to find ways to spark what I hope is joy in others – which, in turn, brings me just as much joy.
Just like I didn’t know where Amon’s tale would take me, I’m not sure where my path is leading me right now. There’s a lot that’s up in the air.
What I am sure of is that I’m happy to have crossed paths with each of you in whatever ways we may have shared a little corner of our lives. Somewhere on a blogging site or social media feed. On the Internet.
