Tome Appraisal for Amis Qalli
May 3, 2023
From the Client
Entering the shop garbed in crimson Thavnairian silks, a petite Xaela walks up to the counter, holding up the tomestone between two fingers and humming gently. She smiles gently, half-visible through the veil drawn over her lips, and places the tomestone on the counter, together with a handful of Gil coins.
Tome Attributes: Four parallel lines scored into its surface, lengthwise.
Gil Donation: 2000
Tea Order: None
“Welcome to you!” Amon greets his newest client warmly.
Though she says nothing in response and does not order any tea, she’s given him everything he needs to inspect and work on the Tome she’s brought. A quiet one – not everyone is given to open conversation, and that’s perfectly fine.
“Very well, I’ll get right to work on this, friend. Please make yourself comfortable in the meantime!”
Appraisal Outcome
This is certainly an unusual Tome all in all. I ponder about the linework etched into it, though I’ve no answer as to what it was for or what it was intended to mean. The data is in excellent condition, however, and shows little signs of having been a copy from other sources.
Due to this, I’m going to deduce that this is a fairly rare piece here. In a rough translation, the title turns out to be: Secret Signs of Allag: Poems of Six Ages
And with a title like that, even I’m a bit curious about what these secrets are!
Amon returns the Tome to his client, along with a preserved copy of the data. He also brings a list of possible Tome collectors who might have interest in this piece.
“I’m not sure if you’re looking to make gil from this find, but if you are, I’ve marked a few collectors I’ve known to purchase Tomes of this sort. Certainly keep it secure and safe, if nothing else, and if poetry is your thing, give it a read!”
