Tome Repair for Hope Hyrelle

From the Client
How she'd never come to notice this tea shop is beyond her. Usually, she prides herself on her perception and ability to notice things. The fact that her senses had slipped this place altogether could have meant that she was slipping. That, or she just want as sharp as she thought she was.
Hope, after all, had been through a lot, more than a lifetimes worth of trouble. One could forgive her for not noticing. The fact that it was set up as a small performance venue made the bard in her silently jump for joy. She never did get much practice, however she loved the chance to perform.
Singing and playing songs from around Etherys, and even some ones that came to her in ways she's not sure about, was one way she likes to give back. People were more at ease when there was something to take their mind off of what was happening. Inwardly, she made a note to ask about the ordinance space later. Right now, she was exploring this new shop.
Scanning the store, her eyes settled on the person she assumed was the owner. An elezen, like her. There was something, however, that seemed oddly familiar. Something she couldn't put her finger on. Wether it was their cute, in her opinion, face, or just their friendly aura, was unclear. It wasn't a negative feeling, at least not as far as she could tell. It did, however, feel like the oddest sense of déjà-vue. Perhaps this was just the Echo going a little in the haywire, nothing more. For now, she would just shrug it off.
"Excuse me," Hope began, reaching into her pocket and pulling out the tomestone. "Would it be possible to have..." She trailed off, casting her eye over the menu. "A... Uh... Lavender Law?" The tea itself sounded as though it would be pleasant, but this was to just pass the time. The real reason for her visit was the tomestone.
"Also, I'm sorry to intrude, I need some help with this, and I've been told that here is a good place to ask." Hope gently places the tomestone on the counter, face up.
The screen itself is dark, giving away no indication of its contents. A lot has happened with the tomestone since she got it. It contained a wealth of information about her, her friends, where she'd been, the people she's met, everything. It was, in a way, almost like her own personal job stone. Everything from her first days starting out as an adventurer, to the depths of the Dragonsong War, Doma, The First, the past, and even the ends of the universe itself. There was a wealth of data just buried in the storage of the device.
"It's not been working properly," she started. "It keeps shutting off at random intervals." Usually, she'd try to fix it herself, but this was just a little beyond her skill right now.
Tome Attributes: The tome has a little sticker of a chocobo chick in the back, and there are a few small dents and dings around the edge. Nothing that stops it from working, but evidence of her being just a little butterfingered when handling it.

Tea Order: Lavender Law
Amon made show of working behind the counter as the other Elezen took her time to explore the shop. She seemed a little nervous to approach, and he tried to ease her concern by fixing her selected tea promptly.
“Ah, good day to you,” he responded, placing the tea on the counter before her, motioning to the selection of sweeteners and additional additives to choose from. When she placed her personal Tomestone on the counter for him to view he tilted his head.
“Well now, this location usually functions as a place to get old Tomes analyzed to see if their contents are valuable to collectors, I also have a knack with repairs. In fact, I quite enjoy the challenge. So, I’d say, you’ve brought this to the right place, my friend!”
He took the Tome in his hand, turning it around and taking notice of the adornments (a chocobo sticker) and the slight wear and tear. This was, no doubt, a much-used and likely much-cared for device. Such as this was, it heightened his determination to restore it back to working order.
“From your description – intermittent shutdowns – I will conclude this has something to do with the aetheric battery,” Amon told her, carefully turning the Tome with the case-side up. Producing a small wedge-like tool from behind the counter, he began to gently pry at specific points of the case, seemingly with a skilled, innate knowledge of the device’s click-points.
Then, with one final motion, he removed the backing itself, revealing the inner workings of the Tome.
“While ‘tis rare for a batter to need full replacement – it gathers and recycles atmospheric aether mostly – sometimes they do become unsynced. Or…” the Elezen tilted his head. “Ah, yes.”
With the same tool, he pressed gently on a tiny circular piece of metal located in the corner of the chipset. A soft click could be heard as the piece slid into its port.
“Seems the battery merely came unseated,” Amon told her. Giving it one last look-over, he nodded. “’Tisn’t uncommon and the rest of the board seems in good condition. So, I’d wager ‘twas your issue.”
He had the case back on the device in short order, handing it over to her respectfully.
“Mayhaps give it a few hours to let it settle and recharge. Or, if you have a means of passing aether to it, you could speed up the process. ‘Twon’t take much. Otherwise, you’re good to go!”
