Tome Appraisal for Lorilae Starsong
May 1, 2024
From the Client
The lilac haired Viera peeked in for a moment before gathering up her nerve and stepping inside. You'd think having been friends with the gods before...well, *that*, she'd be over being shy but apparently not.
"Um..excuse me?" she began, setting her purse and a tomestone down on the counter. "I found this tomestone out on the Isle of Haam while I was out helping my brother with some of the more violent creatures out there, and I was wondering if you could find out what was on it to make someone leave it there? Oh, may I have a pumpkin spice too please?"

Tea Order: Pumpkin Spice Poetics
Amon peered up over the rim of his tomepad where he was busily jotting down notes as his newest client arrived. He tilted his head, listening to her inquiry before giving a welcoming smile and motioning towards a seat.
“The Isle of Haam, you say. How curious – I shall also be interested to see what sort of tome made its way to such a remote location,” the Elezen agreed, bringing out a tea cup with a slight flourish. He then added the blend and poured the hot water to begin the steep. “Any season is pumpkin spice season, am I right? ‘Tis a good choice!
“Feel free to help yourself to any of the snacks and condiments! I shall have your tome reading done shortly!”
Appraisal Outcome
This tome appears to boot up and run well enough. No problem in getting it to connect and read.
The content within is a collection of files under a folder titled: The Cyber Warrior's Guide: Navigating High-Tech Warfare.
This appears to be a series of manuals on various Allagan military tech. Not an uncommon find for its time, especially among the newest imperial recruits supporting Xande’s war efforts. The incoming troops had to know the basic ins-and-outs of the clockwork war tech, amongst other such devices of battle.
Amon returns the tome and a smaller SD copy of the data to his client. There’s a somewhat somber look on his face as if remembering something he’d rather have forgotten – but only for a moment before it’s replaced by his typical smile.
“While ‘tisn’t such an uncommon series of documents, it may still fetch a price with those who would be curious about such devices in this age. Mayhaps even the folks at Garlond Ironworks would fancy a peek at it!”
He presents a list of tome collectors with a few names circled as suggestions.
“Here’s a place to start if you seek to sell. Just take care that such knowledge falls into the right hands, aye?”
