Amon doesn’t actually have a portrait of himself, but I just thought I’d make fun of the real portrait of Amon located in Syrcus Tower with this prompt. Next time you run it, check some of the side room balconies – you’ll find some interesting things if you look!

It’s been a while since I jumped back into MHRise with Amon, though it’s been on my mind to play. The recent update brought to my attention there was DLC for the game, so out of curiosity, I began to search to find out if I could give Amon “elf ears” like the NPCs had (sorry MH folks, I’m ignorant of your lore).
After poking around some, I discovered there is indeed such a thing called Layered Armor – Wyverian Earrings! While it is part of a big pack of DLC, you can also pick it (and other items) up individually.
I was stoked to find out that I had just enough points on the My Nintendo account to pick the earrings up for free. I also decided to purchase him a new hairstyle since I also had a couple dollars left over from Christmas Switch gift cards!
Very happy with Amon’s change in appearance! Now it’s time to go hit things with a rainbow cello!
Junelezen Day 2 – Landscape

It’s somewhat in the same vein as the Azys Lla screenshot I entered into the S/E FavZoneSweepstakes (and won!). Azys Lla has so much going on that it makes a great landscape picture!
In that contest entry from last year, I noted that I’d love to see more happening in the zone… and then MSQ starts taking us there over and over for story pieces. So I was quite happy about that.

Saw this going around, and decided to try it.
The cartoon filters have no idea what to do with Amon’s eyes and hair. I had several rather bad fails, so this was the best of the group.
However, Scylla turned out adorable (though her eyes are red, not blue!).
Now, the Renaissance filters turned out quite nicely for Amon. When it didn’t try to turn him into a girl.
And Scylla…
And I tried Zuri too.

Summer for Amon includes often trips to the Shirogane beach near his FC house. Though he’s not a fan of swimming in the ocean, he does think the beach is a lovely place to visit.

3 Year Anniversary Thanks

Three years ago today, I relaunched the Spot of Mummery Tumblr as my FFXIV writing and interaction project. To all the friends and folks who have joined Amon and friends on their journey – thank you so much!
I say “relaunched” because the first time I tried creating a FFXIV RP Tumblr for Amon, it didn’t last. For whatever reason – the atmosphere of the RP community or just my lack of planning (maybe both) – I found it very difficult to introduce my story to the Tumblr folks.
I wrote a bit about that experience, and how I almost deleted Amon’s character in FFXIV here on the 1 year anniversary post and the 2 year anniversary post. Since I’ve already chatted about this in the past, I won’t belabor the topic this year!
Back in December, I decided to expand upon the foundation of the Spot of Mummery story and project. I created a WordPress blog, for one, and copied over much of the non-interactive content to it.
I also started to meet new folks on Twitter and develop the Spot of Mummery account there.
Having a WordPress blog allows me to work on sub-projects such as the Tea and Tomes Shop and the FFXIV RP Directory. I also want to blog about topics that have to with MMOs, creativity and RP in MMO games (specifically FFXIV).
I’m also working on revising and reposting Amon’s story – Spot of Mummery – both on the main site and on the Royal Road website. Not to mention, Scylla and I are still writing upcoming content for the story!
It’s hard to believe that three years later, the tales about a silly Allagan Bard are still rolling along. Thank you again for each comment, ask, tweet, like, follow – If I can offer you a smile on your dash or stream in return, then I feel this has all been a success.
May there be much more Mummery to come!
